My name is Brian, also known as the Power Called Great.  I am a big time sports fan. I'm based in Dallas, so most of my interests are centered in that area. You may also come to realize that I am a luke warm Texas Longhorns fan. I went to Abilene Christian University, which has a powerhouse sports program in Division II. I just wanted someone to root for on TV, so I picked UT. I only have two real attachments to UT: (1)I live in the great nation of Texas, and (2) my wife went to high school with Colt McCoy.

Now on to business. First and foremost, I am a baseball fan. Worse than that I am a Texas Rangers fan. I grew up with them, so I have no choice but to love them. I find that there is no greater fan crime than to adopt a favorite team with no geographic consideration. You can't live in Los Angeles all your life and decide you're a Cubs fan. God gave you the Dodgers, you have to live and die with them.  Some of my fellow bloggers here would disagree with that sentiment, ergo they are wrong.
I guess after being a baseball fan, I am a hockey fan. Weird right? I love the Dallas Stars. It isn't a recent love either. Those waters run deep. Thirdly, I am a football fan. I had a hard time getting into the Cowboys of the early to mid 90's just because I was so young. When I finally started paying enough attention to them, they had begun to suck. I stuck with them though, and hopefully justice will prevail. Lastly, I am a basketball fan. More than a little bit of me died when the Mavs got destroyed by Dwyane Wade (it really was just Dwyane Wade. The Heat had very little to do with it) in the Finals. I root for the Mavs, but they're the team I think about forsaking the most.
